These tools are generally shipped with the top end Office Suite - Office 2007 Ultimate, but others may need to be purchased as individual items.They are also available to buy on an individual basis.


Business Contact Manager (for Outlook 2007)

  • Business Contact Manager is an extension to Outlook 2007 and provides a suite of customer and contact management tools designed to help you save time, assist in maintaining good customer service, and manage marketing campaigns. When used effectively the 'Business Contact Manager' can manage all customer contacts, prospects, and extended customer information within the one space.
  • Business Contact Manager is integrated into other applications - such as Publisher, allowing promotional material created to be linked directly with the targeted contacts. The tool allows the user to centralise all project-related information, helping to ensure that you can stay organised and can effectively monitor tasks, including creating automated reminders.

Groove 2007

  • Office Groove 2007 was first introduced into the suite of MS Office applications with version 2003, and subsequently enhanced in the current version. Groove provides information workers and those working in a collaborative environment with a means of effectively sharing files and other resources. Unlike a network share, which is commonly used for this purpose, Groove allows 'Workspaces' to be created and shared amongst the project team - even if they are working remotely (on or off line), and also allows users from other organisations to be part of the team!
  • In teams that make extensive use of project (see below) implementing a 'Groove Workspace' can lead to increased collaboration, sharing & re-use of information, and as a result enhanced team efficiency.

Info Path 2007

  • Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 is a program that is designed to allow the developer to gather information using XML based forms. The data collection tools - the forms - can be delivered via email (embedded or attached), downloaded from a web site or Network Location.
  • InfoPath can be extended to utilise InfoPath Forms Services - which are part of the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 toolset.

One Note 2007

  • Office OneNote 2007 is essentially a digital notebook. It allows the user to gather loosely related snippets of Information, Notes, Diagrams (etc) into easy-to-use shared Notebooks.
    One of the primary purposes of the tool is to help avoid 'information overload' by placing the content into Notebooks containing loosely related snippets, that viewed collectively provide a greater degree of information than when view individually.

Project 2007

  • Like Visio, Project 2007 ships in two versions Standard & Professional. Either version provides robust project management tools, that utilise the familiar Office (2003) Interface. Standard project management tasks - such as managing resources, schedules,finances and managing individual teams within the project are some of Projects Key features.
  • All projects need to be reported on and (in conjunction with other programs from the Office Suite) Project can incorporate powerful reporting, guided planning, and flexible tools.
  • Project Server is an additional tool that can be used by teams on larger projects, however not all users have the need, or resources to use the Project Server Tool. An effective substitute is to utilise a 'Groove WorkSpace'.

Visio 2007

  • Being able to create a diagram of a complex process often makes it easier to understand to all levels of users. Microsoft Office Visio 2007 is a tool designed for this purpose, allowing flow charts, process diagrams, network maps, and even simple diagrams (such as an office floor plan) to be created with relative ease.
  • Unlike other tools in the Office Suite, Visio diagrams can be connected to Databases or Spreadsheets. As the data is changed in the source application, the linked information is automatically updated on the Visio diagram, ensuring that the most current information is available in a easy to read, and constantly up to date diagram.
  • Visio ships with two versions, the 'Enterprise Version' includes additional tools, designed to allow much more complex diagrams to be created.
